SEIKO’s self-toning lenses as a visual aid:
Change from one season to the next within record time!

Who would not be familiar with this? In strong sunlight at the sea or on the ski run, but also at the change of season when diffuse light has a negative effect on our vision, we frown and screw our eyes up. Above all those people with blue eyes containing the smallest amount of pigments require a special protection against glare and ultraviolet radiation. This situation can be compared to fair skin, which also needs a very high sun protection filter. To relieve the strain on the eyes there is now an intelligent rganic lens that automatically adapts to the ambient light. And it adapts in a new record speed that turns all experiences made so far with self-toning lenses inside out! It is called SEIKO 1.67 Transitions® V*. For darkening one can choose between brown and grey. These lenses can be fitted into every fashionable frame and they guarantee clear vision free of glare and reflection.

Background information: In the past, when driving into a tunnel with dark lenses, they would only brighten very slowly and one would literally grope in the dark for a short time. And the lenses would darken only slightly so that one still had to blink when the sun was shining. Older lenses even turned into an unattractive yellowish colour.

Quick protection in changing light

Times have changed. Nowadays the lenses are clear indoors and tint within seconds when exposed to sunlight, as if one had switched them on or off.

Nature was the model for these SEIKO Transitions® V lenses, as they react to changing light in the same way as our eyes. They protect the eyes a hundred per cent against harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation. At the same time they darken as strongly as high-quality sunglasses.

Perfect for nighttime driving and PC work: the lenses are also suitable for nighttime driving and make vision at the PC relaxed and rich in contrast.

Natural eye size behind the new spectacle lens
You do not have to give up on good looks, as Seiko has designed the new lens SEIKO Transitions® V perfectly: it is not just the fastest, but also the thinnest self-toning lens available. Behind these lenses the eyes neither look enlarged nor minimised, but totally natural.
