2007

SEIKO ORGATECH – new levels of lens durability
Once again SEIKO has revolutionised the international spectacle lens market. SEIKO ORGATECH lenses have very high resistance to scratching, heat, high impact and excessive pressure. In addition to this they are up to 45% thinner and lighter than ordinary plastic lenses and are very easy to clean.

2006

SEIKO SuperClean Coat - easy to clean – as standard
The addition of SuperClean Coat as a standard feature of nearly all SEIKO lenses made them even more resistant to oil, dirt and grease ensuring that SEIKO lenses can be cleaned easily and remain clear.

2005

SEIKO launched P-1 Indoor, a lens specially designed to give optimum vision for people who spend a lot of time indoors

2003

SEIKO introduced P-1 Computer, a lens specifically designed to be worn when using a PC

SUPER P-1 and P-1 Computer series both win the Good Design Award 2003-2004 in the design category

The SUPER P-1 series, individualized inner surface progressives were nominated as a product for the Universal Design Award 2003-2004, a special award

2002

SEIKO introduced a new lens coating called SuperClean which make it easier and quicker to remove dirt and moisture from a lens

SEIKO launched P-1 SY inner surface progressive in 1.74 index.

The P-1SY series won the Good Design Award 2002-2003 in the design category.

2000

SEIKO launched SSV Transitions, the world's first photochromic lenses in aspheric 1.67 index

SEIKO introduced SPG aspheric in 1.74 index

1998

SEIKO introduced SSV AZ, the world's first double-sided aspheric lenses in index 1.67

1997

SEIKO launched P-1 GR, the world's first inner surface progressive powered lenses in index 1.67

1996

SEIKO OPTICAL PRODUCTS CO., LTD founded with operations transferred from Seiko Corporation.

SEIKO Optical Europe GmbH was founded in Willich (Germany) as a subsidiary of SEIKO Corporation

SEIKO launched P-1 G, the world's first aspheric progressive lenses

SEIKO brand titanium frames were introduced into the market.

The optical department of the Hattori Clock Store started to import spectacle lenses and frames.
